The Fairy Gardener’s First Give Away!

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.
THANK YOU!Give Away Banner

I’m very  excited but a little embarrassed too.
I planned on doing my first give away last month on my blog’s six month anniversary, but that came and went and I missed it!  Duh!  Then I thought—”Well I’ll just do it on my 50th blog post” but  I’m past that point now, so I had another brilliant moment of inspiration and thought, “I’ll  do a President’s Day give away, but as you can tell, I’m late again [sigh].
So I think I’d better strike while the iron’s hot and call today, February 22nd,  “Blog Follower’s Appreciation Day”!   Please realize that I have absolutely no power or authority of any kind to declare such a day, unless notary publics can declare holidays, but what the hey…
I hereby officially declare February 22nd, 2011 as Blog Follower’s Appreciation Day (on my blog).
So in honor of Blog Follower’s Appreciation Day,  I’m giving away this very pretty stack of fabric from Studio E’s “Road to Marrakesh” and “Soho” lines.
I picked this fabric especially because it just felt like spring.  The Cool blues, spring greens, chartreuse, yellow, & soft tangerine all reminded me of sunny spring days, daffodils, crocus, grass and new leaves.
DSC00431
I tried my best but  I don’t think these pictures do the fabric any justice.
BTW,  There are six half-yard cuts in this bundle.  I was originally going to give away five but I felt bad about missing the give away dates so there’s six now. Smile That’s a total of three yards of fabric—see I told you this give-away would be a doozey!
DSC00429
To enter the drawing  just leave a comment.   If you’re a gardener,  tell me  what you’re looking forward to the most when spring comes.
If you’re not a gardener tell me what new project you are most looking forward to doing that’s spring related.
Answer the bonus question, “What kind of project would you use this fabric for?”, and receive another surprise half yard of fabric from Studio E.
DSC00430

I’ll pick a winner on Monday night February 28th and announce it Tuesday morning.   Good luck and spread the word.
Gail

  1. Hi Gail...well I am a gardener and I have been working on all white garden. All of our blossoms are all white and they begin in spring to the fall...we discourage any bees from pollinating lol.
This fabric is lovely, sew I think I would use it for some doll quilts or mug rugs..t.y. for the chance

  2. Spring is still snow covered for us usually, so everything in my garden gets a late start. But when the tulips start poking through, I get almost giddy! We had one (or several) gophers a few years back, and they ate a lot of my bulbs....but I keep planting more hoping for the best! I love to see the pics of 'spring happenings' on the blogs....helps me get through the wait!

I love these fabrics....they are so beautiful! They would definitely be the focus of a quilt!

Thanks for having a giveaway! We love that!

  3. Hi Gail, thanks for the chance to win! I'm not a gardener but I look forward to my azalea bush blooming in the spring... it only looks decent 2 weeks out of the year, but those two weeks are pretty!

I'd make a quilt for my brother, who's jealous because I made my niece one and not him! Men! ...go figure.

  4. Those fabrics are great! I think they would be good in a modern squares quilt-large squares surrounded by two borders, all sewn together. I am really looking forward to having time to work on a quilt that is a PHD-made from whites and Kaffe Fassett prints as well as a few others.

  5. I love your proclamation!!

This last week we have woke up to snow on the ground 5 days! Enough already. I always know spring really is on the way when my crocuses start sprouting.

I was inspired today by a quilt from Bonnie Hunter. It would be lovely with these fabrics.
    Happy blogging.

  6. Gorgeous fabrics. I live in an apartment and while I love flowers I limit myself to just a couple of small containers on the balcony.

  8. Just found your blog, and I love the pics and information on African Violets! I have never had success in growing them but I had a beautiful Streptocarcus which unfortunately didn't survive our move to the country last year - they are from the same flower family as the Saint Paulias. We're coming to the end of our summer now, but I am thinking of planting some sweet peas along the back fence to have them blooming next spring - in Australia, we plant sweet peas in mid-March. The "gardening rule" says to plant them on or by St Patrick's Day.

  10. I live in Portugal so Spring in about a month away. Nevertheless some time ago (a long time to be honest) I bought a beautiful panel full of adorable Spring pictures. Now I've just have to decide if I'm going to quilt just as it is or cut into the little pictures and make a whole new quilt.

  13. Hi Gail! I'm a gardener too! I'm super excited to get started on my veggie garden. Last year we did a pretty small one to see how it went. We have plans to enlarge it this year. Oh, and I cannot wait to get started on my flower beds. I keep walking around the yard...through the snow...thinking about what needs to be done this year. :-) The fabrics are gorgeous and I think I'd like to make them into some sort of gardening apron. I'm new at sewing, so I still have to think small.

  20. Gail, I found you through Karen at sew many ways. I love your blog! I am a neebie to quilting but have been sewing for many years. I also love to crochet. I live in MN and we are currently covered in snow, so Spring is not as close as I would like:) The project I'm looking forward to is raking up the remnants of last year's leaves and watching the tulips pop out. In addition to running around with my kids to baseball games. As far as what I would do with the gorgeous fabric, I'd have to look at it and touch it for a while. I just love fabric! Eventually, I would like to make a quilt for my niece who's graduating and heading off to college. Thanks for listening and thanks for the chance to meet someone new and enter your drawing.

  21. A fellow New England gardener/fabric lover - how great is that!!! I am looking forward to early spring greens, my new mini-greenhouse that Hubby got me, and watching the scilla erupt in my yard!

These cuts would make a great throw quilt for my garden swing - I usually pull a quilt off the bed to take out there with my planning notebook in the early spring to catch some early sunshine and doodle my garden dreams for the year. Having a green quilt would be an added bonus!

  23. I'm not much of a gardener but I am looking forward to weeded out some of the beds that have gone astray for far to long. I love when flowers can be planted.
If I win, I would use the fabric to make my sister or niece a quilt for Christmas. It would be a reminder of spring all year long. Thanks for being so generous.

  24. Congratulations on your blogaversary! I am going to have to replant much of my yard. We had a devistatingly cold spell and the temperatures got to 7 degrees here in AZ. I think I would like to make a lap quilt from your gift. There is a great tutorial on Missouri Quilt Company called a tube quilt. It looks really fun. I want to try it.

The fabric would be my "porch picnic quilt"! So I can watch the deer eat my roses and apple trees.

I will use the card trick block or a nine patch and make tea and coffee and burn .....i mean bake another coffee cake! If I win it will be tomato time by the time I finish it...

  36. Oh, two of my favorite things - gardening and quilting, cooking and genealogy can take up my whole day if I didn't have to go to work!!

My favorite spring plant is our beautiful Texas Bluebonnets growing across the fields and pastures of our Texas Hill Country. If I ever get a blog set up, a picture of my bluebonnets will be on it!!

Love those fabrics and I certainly hope I win!!

Thanks for your blog and I'll be putting you into my favorites.

  37. The words "Road to Marrakesh" stopped me in my tracks. I have a little bit of that collection and I love it. I have not made anything with it because I need more. And here is my opportunity....yeah :)

What I look forward to doing in the garden this spring is planting tomatoes...fewer plants this year....and seeing our raspberry bushes spreading. Very exciting for us...we have two little boys who love the garden.

What I plan to make with the fabric....that is a no brainer for me....make a throw for myself....everything I've made has been given away last year....time for something for myself.

  39. Just found your blog, and I love it!
Thanks so much for the chance to win. The fabric is gorgeous!
I've been working on some home improvement projects and I think these would make lovely fabric baskets and maybe also some pillowcases!

  41. Love the fabrics. This spring I plan to become a gardener. Can't wait to start growing herbs and maybe a few veggies!

  42. My hubs and I put in what I refer to as a "pantry" garden, full of the ordinary, staple things - potatoes, carrots, onions, peas, corn, cukes, cabbage, broccoli, etc - that manage to grow here in my zone 3b. The fabrics? Fab. I can think of many, many fun things I would do with them during the winter...thanks for the giveaway!

  43. I'm not a gardener, so my spring project would be to give my car a good cleaning.. It's been too cold to do it, so I'm waiting for a warmer day!

I'd probably make a lap quilt or pillow with the fabric!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Gorgeous fabrics! I am a gardener, although I garden in the Southwest, not New England, so our seasons are a bit different! What I most look forward to is waking my "spring" veggie plots up with a good dose of compost and getting them planted. Even though I grow herbs, veggies and flowers year around, I still look forward to the spring planting season! Karin

  45. Hi Gail, well I am not much of a gardener, so I hope what I do plant will live!!

Spring projects, moving rooms around and spring cleaning and working on our spring line of little girls clothes at bumblebeeandsophie.com

the fabrics are awesome, I will most likely use them for a baby quilt, have a new grandchild on the way and a few others I know having babies...

  46. I am not a gardener, but am hoping to plant some veggies this spring. Its on my to learn list. I don't know what I would use the fabric for. I like to let stuff stew in my stash for a bit while I think about the pattern of the fabric and let it inspire me!

  47. I'm a gardener and I've been looking forward to getting a start on my deck herb garden. But, darn it, it's snowing here in Victoria, B.C. today so I guess I'll have to keep waiting, and waiting. There are lots of bulbs blooming here and yesterday I saw a camellia bush in bloom, so spring must be on the way, but the snow is a bit of a setback. Love the fabrics in your giveaway. I would be making a lap quilt for my deck because the colours reminds me of my garden in summer.

  48. I would garden, but we're moving into a rental townhouse next month, so this year we won't have a garden.

If I won I might make a spring-y table runner out of them, and some matching placemats?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm a gardener (aren't all quilters?) and I am just anxious to see the snow melt and see the Johnny Jump Ups appear. So sick of winter!. The fabrics you have chosen are wonderful. I think a little quilt for my screen porch would be the ticket for me.

  50. Hi,
I am a gardener and look forward to so much. My crocus are peeking up out of the ground, the tulips will be coming soon and getting the ground ready to plant early peas. Just finished ordering my seeds so that's fun to look for too.

    Happy almost spring!

  51. We are fortunate enough that we can garden most of the year round, but I always look forward to my spring bulbs. I am also looking forward to see what blooms in my new iris garden this year. We've had such a cold winter so it will be interesting.

  52. I found you through Sew Many Ways. I'm an off/on gardener. I'm from California and when I lived in the Sacramento area I could make anything grow. I moved to the Mendocino area and my thumb turned brown. I just moved to Massachusetts and was hoping that my thumb would turn green again. In any case I always at least grow strawberries. I'm allergic to them but they are pretty and the kids love them. :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. I love my flowers that come up every year. I hope to plant a small vegetable garden. The fabric is lovely and I would make a table topper. Any leftovers would go into new curtains for my kitchen. That way, I would enjoy a garden inside and out. I found you through Sew Many Ways and truly enjoyed your gardening posts. I bookmarked you so I can come back often. I need all the help I can to have a pretty garden. Thanks.

  54. I wish I was a gardener. Unfortunately, I have black thumbs and there are lots of snakes out there. I'd use those yummy fabrics with white to make a quilt.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm so looking forward to the bulbs coming up. Some have started here already, I can't wait. The bonus is that I didn't even plant them, the previous owners did, they just came up in spring and delighted us all.

I think I would have to make a quilt from that material if I won, although I really like those navy blue fabrics and might use them in a tunic pattern I have. Very nice! Thanks for the chance to win!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Vegetable gardener here; last year was one of the best seasons in a long time. I put free veggies down by my mailbox and people scooped them up. Looking forward to a new year...as soon as the 3 or 4 feet of SNOW covering my cold frames goes away so I can get started!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm not much of a gardener (unless you count planting tomatoes for squirrel consumption) but I'm looking forward to spring cleaning my quilting studio and finally translating all my scribbled notes into follow-able patterns. And then, of course, making more quilts!

    ReplyDelete
  58. What pretty fabrics! Thanks for the chance to enter. I found you by way of Sew Many Things.

I am what I like to refer as a pseudo-gardener, which means what I grow best is weeds. What can I say? I didn't inherit my Papa's green thumb. I did, however, purchase a Topsy Turvy for my back porch on clearance yesterday and intend to plant some tomato plants in it. Does that count?

If I were to win this giveaway, I would donate the fabric to my Daddy's Dreams project, making quilts for cancer patients. Even if I don't win, would love your scraps or cast-off cotton and flannel fabrics to use in our effort. The info is here: www.bellabdesigns.blogspot.com/daddysdreams

Again, thanks for the opportunity to enter. You have a very interesting blog! HUGS

I also love to sew and caught the quilting bug a few years ago. I have three quilts to make this year - my stepson is getting married and would use those delicious fabrics in a quilt for him and his sweetheart! Thank you! Hope you pick me!!!

These fabric look like a great quilt inspiration!

  63. Hi, I am a new follower and not a gardener. I do put some pretty flowers in pots on our deck. We have groundhogs and deer who like any flowers that I put in the yard, even the ones that they shouldn't like. I do appreciate a beautiful garden though. Your fabrics look beautiful, I would make a quilt from the book, 6 halves make a whole. A great book to use those fabrics. Thanks for the chance to win.

    ReplyDelete
  64. What a lovely giveaway! I'm looking forward to planting with my sons (4 and 6 years old). Their excitement and wonder really make it a special time for me.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I am a Gardner... well, by marriage not by trade!! My last name is Gardner.
I am not a gardener at all. My parents would wake us up at 6am in the summer to weed the flower beds and vegi garden. They said it's either now or in the heat of the day! So there. Someday I hope to grow into wanting to garden. I love the look of it, just not the mess of it.

I think that fabric would make a beautiful bag. I really want to get a Bow and Tucks bag pattern and try it out!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Congrats on all your milestones...50+ posts, 6 months...awesome! These fabrics are lovely, and just what we need to help us believe that Spring will arrive.

    I'm in a February funk!

I'm not much of a gardener, but two summers ago I had a plot in a community garden and grew some veggies. I really enjoyed it. I was away all last summer, but may be able to try again this year. Other than that, my looking-forward-to-Spring projects include sewing dresses and skirts in gorgeous fabrics.

Also planted tomatoes, cukes, and yellow squash. I am hoping they all make it. Thanks for your very generous giveaway. I am having one too, so please stop by and check it out ;-D

  71. Looking forward to planting spring vegetables -- especially spinach! But until spring planting is possible, I'll plant some new herbs in my Aerogarden.

As for the project, I need to do a wedding quilt for a nephew and his bride. Their taste in fabric is definitely more modern than mine, so my stash of reproductions won't work for them. This fabric would be the perfect starting point for their quilt.

  72. What lovely fabrics - spring in the garden....I look most forward to the tulips! If I won this fabric, I'd use it for mug rugs for my sisters when we have our sisters' weekend in the spring - and maybe a tote that my sister has asked me to make for her Kobo. Thanks for the chance!

  73. Hi Gail-
We had a bit of a teaser about spring with temp's in the 60's, it was record breaking. Then this morning, it was only 6degree's. Quite the heartbreaker for a gardener. But I'm certain spring will come.
As for what I am looking forward to... I really miss being outside without shoes, to walk in the grass. I love it! After that there is planting and mulching and icetea!

  81. I am a veggie and flower gardener. Two seasons ago we had to take down our veggie garden and I tried square foot gardening. What an abysmal failure. This year I am looking forward to tilling up a new veggie garden, I missed those fresh peppers, tomatoes, cukes, eggplants and zucchini so much last year.

I have a grandson with Alexander's disease who will be turning 3 this summer. I would like to make him a new quilt this year and if this fabric isn't too girly, I would like to use it for him.

  84. I avoid plants as every plant I have has died. Recently I came across Air Plants. They literally survive on air and a little water. I'm thinking of getting one. But so afraid(for the plant). I make bags so no surprise the fabric will be turned into more bags.

  88. I garden a bit. I can't wait to clean out the raised beds and plant some flowers in the pots by the front door. 93. Hi Gail, i was sent over by Karen at "sew many ways" what a great blog you have, both gardening and quilting including care of indoor plants. I am in Australia, so we are preparing our coastal garden for the cooler weather. We don't get snow but get blasted by salty sea winds. We hopefully will get one more flush of roses before the weather changes. The beautiful fabrics would offer some brightness through the coming season, both during the making of and snuggling under a sofa quilt

  94. I love that you established your own holiday! I am in the midst of basting a Hawaiian quilt block for my spring-inspired project. I absolutely love the fabric in your giveaway. I am starting to collect greens for a St. Patrick's Day quilt (for next year, obv) and this would be a wonderful addition!

  95. I just found your blog from SewManyWays. I'm a fellow quilter and a gardener-wanna-be. The Springtime is so exciting and I look forward to picking out and planting veggies & herbs in our small garden. Then I usually look on my shrubs with guilt and wish I'd do more to spruce them up. Maybe this year .....

  97. Every year I plant a Sunflower Garden/patch & also a veggie garden. We always get a late start here, because if you plant too early the frost will kill everything! Growing a garden in the Rockies is a challenge, but one I love!
Your beautiful fabric would make some beautiful throw pillows & a matching lap quilt!
Thank you for a chance to win such colorful fabric! :)
So glad I stumbled across your Awesome Blog!

My 13 year old has already planted her cool weather vegetables. The fabric is beautiful. I need to get going on a new quilt. Thanks for the chance to win.

  108. I cant wait for spring, I was unable to play in the garden last year due to knee replacement surgery, but look out this year weeds! I plan on adding a couple of shade gardens this year and moving our vegie garden to the front lots more sun there. This fabric would make a great spring porch quilt, nice to sit out there on the cool evenings and listen to the birds. This giveaway is very generous and I thank you for the chance at winning.

  109. Nice blog! I just found you and am just learning to quilt! Our favorite thing in the garden is the snap peas.It is the first thing we can plant and eat. They usually never make it in the house because they all get eaten as soon as they are picked!

  110. Hey Gail, I'm a gardner. Many gardens around the yard, 2 large lilly gardens on a hill in the back. A large vegetable garden in the back - tomatoes, peppers, corn, zucchini, cantalope, eggplant. Looking forward to it getting warm enough to start getting the soil ready. What would I do with the fabric? to be honest, I'm not really sure...I'm into art quilting lately. I would surely use it in an upcoming project. Hoping someday to make a king sized quilt for my bed - the greens would work well as part of that.

  111. Greetings from Alaska! Here in SE Alaska, the ground is still frozen solid. It should soon thaw out, bringing to life our berries, rhubarb, cherry trees, and flowers, and reminding us to prepare the greenhouse (for the tender crops) and the pots/beds for potatoes, peas, onion, carrots, and beets.

And what would I make with this fabric? Oh, a quilt of memories, of course! The greens would recall our summer garden when we're snuggled underneath it in winter.

May you enjoy many, many more posts! Kayli

  112. I am a gardener and our first daffodils are just starting to bloom. Let spring begin!

I could see using this fabric in a lap quilt maybe with churn dash blocks.

  113. We have raised beds for our veggie gardens and my favorite thing to look forward to in the spring is getting them all cleaned out and ready for planting. Then we go shopping and bring home some nice healthy plants and pop them into the ground. Then the waiting begins!

I would probably use those fabrics for some super cool tote bags or cinch sacks.

  114. I used to garden, and I definitely miss it. Now I live the apartment life and don't have access to my own little piece of earth. So I enjoy houseplants. If I had better light, I'd grow some sort of herbs in a window. I still get the itch to get my fingers in the soil every spring (sigh). I'd like to use the Studio E fabrics to make a new market bag and a new pillow or two to freshen up the living room for spring :D

  115. My husband is a gardener. I love when he prepared the soil to plant tomatoes and cucumbers:) Thanks for this wonderful fabric giveaway! Looking forward to reading your blog.

  119. I'm not a gardener, but I'm looking forward to starting a new dress this weekend...I suppose it could be considered a spring-related dress because it's strapless, so I won't be able to wear it until it gets warmer and/or the snow melts, lol! Thanks for the generous giveaway!

If I won these fabrics, I would use them to make 2 quilts for twin babies that will be here at the end of summer. The mother really likes paislies and interesting prints, so these would be great!

  120. Beautiful fabrics! Come spring, my little family should be moving into our own little place, so I will have to start working on home decor. I would use these fabrics to make throw pillows and maybe a spring wall quilt. Thanks for the chance to win!

  121. Hi Gail....I am new to your blog and love it. I came by way of SEW MANY WAYS.

Last year I had my very first garden....and I loved it. I was able to pick several types tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, squash, green beans and egg plant. I am getting ready to prepare the garden for the spring and get the seeds planted indoors. I will definitely plant additional tomato plants and green beans this year.

I have just joined two quilting groups. One is with my church. This group makes quilts of various sizes for missions, as well as, seniors/shut-ins. They just finished a lap quilt for a triple amputee who stepped on an IED in Afghanistan. He also happens to be a member of our church. It is wonderful being a part of this group of ladies. If chosen to win the fabrics, I would definitely donate the fabric to this quilting group. Thanks for the chance.

  123. I love to garden, but I'm in the part of the world where spring is a long way off - we're heading for autumn. I always love to see the new leaves appear in spring - but in autumn I love the orange glow of the persimmons shining on the tree as the leaves turn red and gradually drop off.

  124. Hi! What a generous give-away! I probably would use the fabric for napkins because I'm disabled as of 4 months ago and don't have the use of my right hand. So, simple projects are my mantra. lol I love veggie gardening and hope to arrange some containers so I can garden from my wheelchair. Hey, maybe I'll recover by planting time ... A girl can always hope, right? I have to laugh at my catchpa "bustes". I'm a GG cup! lol

I want a rose bush, it's just a matter of figuring out where. And then, in fall, I'll plant all my beautiful bulbs I've been dreaming about so that next winter I'll have something to look forward to! I had to sew a tulip this year. :)

  135. We are looking forward to spring and the flowers in are yard after a very snowy winter. When the weather warms we will be able to take my Mother out on the deck to have her morning coffee - she doesn't tolerate cold weather well so we can't take her out much in the winter. It makes her so happy to be able to watch the birds and other animals that wander into our yard.

If I was lucky enough to win your drawing I would probably use the beautiful fabric to make a D9P quilt - it would be beautiful.

Your blog is great - this is my first visit and I will visit again soon.

  136. Hi! What a treat! Spring is full on already where I live. We'll have about two more weeks of it before starting into our way-too-long summer. I'm not a gardener, but this year I sure am a Spring-cleaner. I'm reorganizing my house - getting rid of underused furniture and making room to set up the new sewing table I just got so that I can dive head-first into free motion quilting. That's my spring project!

Wow, this fabric is marvelous! If I were so lucky, I will make a modern quilt out of it, using alternating wonky squares and circles. It would be my wonky garden patch quilt! :D

Thanks for the offer, and I sure hope the good karma comes back your way soon.

  137. So glad I'm not the only person who forgets to read a calendar ;-) I love this bundle of fabrics - very colorful. I like to garden, but am not what you'd call successful gardener. My granddaughter would say I plant a "salsa" garden because it's a small space that usually has tomatoes, peppers, green onions - those things you'd find in salsa. As for what I'm working quilt wise, I have 6 patriotic themed quilts to go on my Tin Lizzy. I belong to an internet group that meets at a retreat in July and we spend 5 day making quilts for our veterans/troops. These 6 are tops sent to me from various people in our group that will be part of our July 2011 donation. Oh... If I'm lucky enough to 'win' your beautiful fabrics, I'll lay them out and let them 'speak' to me. Then I'll find the perfect pattern to make up for them.

  166. As soon as spring arrives, I plan to get out and get back to work on my landscaping project. I have the whole south side of our house that needs something to brighten our back yard ... and as soon as the weather gets/stays nice, I'll be out turning the dirt getting ready for the trip to the nursery to pick out plants! It will be so nice to sit out on our deck and have some color to see instead of just the green grass.

The colors on those fabrics are beautiful ... I'm sure I'll make a wall hanging out of them (we moved into a new house a couple of years ago, and I have to admit that there are a couple of walls needing something hung ... a wall hanging might just be what they need!). I'll have to go look through my patterns to see what pattern to use. ;-)

  172. I made my way to your blog today from Sew Many Ways blog. I can't wait to read your gardening tips that she spoke of. For spring I most look forward to all of the trees opening with new leaves. It seems every year that it all happens so suddenly. I walk out on my deck and green, everything is beautiful green. I have a lot of perennials that I also love to see poke out of the ground bloom. If I were to win the fabric, I would most likely use it for making quilted wall hangings, quilted tote bags, and quilted organizing baskets. I'm just starting to experiment with quilting so I'm practicing on smaller projects before going for the big all out quilt. I look forward to reading your blog.

  191. I am a gardener ( or an admirer of my husbnad's labours), and I'm looking forward to my spring bulbs popping up! I'll be retiring this Spring, so I'll have time to spend on my patio, and time to turn these beautiful fabrics into a modern blocky quilt

  192. Such lovely fabric. I am really not a gardener but I do appreciate the efforts of others.

  193. I moved into a new house in September so I don't know what's in my garden! I was hugely excited yesterday to discover a crocus (just one!) and that I have daffodills (my absolute favorite). I can't wait to get in there and get my hands dirty!

  194. I'm not a gardener. I have 10 black thumbs. The only thing I can grow is a jade plant. I once didn't water it for a year and it thrived just from the humidity in the air and any water that came from the lawn sprinklers that were on a timer. As for what I am looking forward to when spring comes is no more freezing cold and snow. Everyone thinks it's hot in Arizona - nope, not where I am. A couple of years ago, we got 3 feet of snow on Memorial Day weekend.

I have a pattern from Maple Island that would be perfect with these fabrics. It's very 50's retro and will showcase large print fabrics beautifully.

  195. PS, forgot my name - it's not 10 black thumbs, it's Paule

  196. Hi~I'm a wanna-be gardener with some azaleas and a few potted plants. My spring project is to repaint all porch furniture white and make new cushions. Your wonderful fabrics would make beautiful throw pillows to complete my new spring look. Off to finish looking/reading your great blog ~

  197. Great give away.

I'm a gardener and the first thing I like to do is get my pruning shears and clip back the shrubs. I like to start neat!!!

Perfect colours ... I just picked up some similar fabrics on the weekend ... and plan to do a "SPRING" quilt for my bed.

  198. I am a gardener, and I live in Georgia so I have a long growing season. Right now I'm beginning to dig up the boxes so I can get them fed soon. I also bought a whole bunch of roses to put in, and I'm trying potatoes and onions. With that stack of fabric I would make a spring like lap quilt and with leftovers a gardening apron and bandana. Happy Friday (tomorrow)!

  199. My grandson's and I sat down tonight a went through some of my old garden journals and we ran across a pic of a bush bean tepee and the boys are now biting at the bit to make one so that will be are first order of business and then we are going to plant a salad bowl garden.
So I'm thinking that it would be awesome to make each one of them a small lap quilt to use in their tepee with this fabulous fabric if I should be so blessed as to be the winner.
    Awesome!!!

  200. We just moved so this spring I am really excited to get my seeds going and beds ready! I am also hoping to get some quilting done before summer hits & I want to be outside all the time ;)

I would totally use that fabric for quilting or maybe even something for my daughter. Thanks for the chance to enter!
